CFMEU members at ITI Port Adelaide are fighting for wage justice and their rights to be consulted and safe at work

On Wednesday April 5th 2017 members walked off the job for 24 hours in their fight for better pay, conditions and consultation.

This follows a series of 4 hour stoppages.
 
ITI is one of Australia's largest timber distributors and have refused to offer more than a 1% pay increase per year. 

The company wants to make discretionary bonus payments (the boss decides) and budgeted sales increases bonus but refuses to pay decent increases.
 
Workers are concerned the discretionary bonus system of ITI is neither transparent nor accountable and their measly pay rises are a joke!
 
Since ITI took over Le Messurier Timber they have removed first aid officers, stripped first aid allowances, introduced clocking in and off for morning tea breaks and failed to train elected Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) representatives. 

The company consultation process is non-existent. 

WHS breaches are multiple and the union has started tackling a safety culture that is a sham.
 
ITI are also refusing to assist workers with illness to access long service leave in advance.
